A guide to #plasticfreepeaks
10 PATRON GUIDELINES
Together with our partners from the VAUDE Sport Albrecht von Dewitz Foundation, outdooractive and Patron Plasticfree Peaks, we have developed 10 key ideas for a PATRON CleanUP. So that you always know exactly how you should behave in our beautiful nature, but also when collecting rubbish.
-
I make a conscious effort to travel in an environmentally friendly way, for example by bike or public transport, and I plan my tour to be as nature-friendly as possible, for example by only using official paths.
-
I pay attention to my safety and respect my boundaries and those of my group.
-
Whether from me or from you. If I find rubbish, I will of course take it with me.
-
Whether old or young: I am responsible like everyone else. Together we can achieve a lot.
-
I pack my rucksack and take the following with me: Preferably the PATRON CleanUP Kit, consisting of a reusable bin liner and a pair of tongs. Gloves are also advisable. I protect myself and my equipment with the right tools.
-
I stay on the designated paths and pay attention to flora and fauna, especially in protected areas, young growth mountain forests and the like. I respect private land and the regulations of protected areas.
-
I take care of my health and avoid contact with unhygienic or toxic waste.
-
I take the rubbish with me and dispose of what I find properly, e.g. in the designated rubbish bins or at a landfill site or recycling centre.
-
I document and share my finds to inspire others to take action, for example in conversation or on social media #grabitandtagit. In this way, I motivate others to join the #plasticfreepeaks movement.

Collecting rubbish is a start. Find out how you can contribute to the preservation and protection of our natural environment. #youarepatron
