During the Garda Trentino CleanUP Days, we were able to get to know an exciting project and the people involved in it. Paolo Matteotti is on the board of Fraglia Vela Riva and talks about what sustainability means for the sailing club in Riva del Garda and what measures they are taking to achieve it. Maya Hebel is a pupil at the local school. She and her classmates have been collecting micro- and macroplastics along the beach in Riva for a year in order to monitor the amount of plastic. Luca Frambi is Professor of Plastics Engineering at the University of Trento and is leading the project on the topic of plastic. What do they all have in common? The SEABIN - a hydraulic pump that filters (micro)plastic out of the water. They are all concerned with keeping the lake and the water in general - not just in Lake Garda - clean and thus making a contribution to environmental protection.
