SOUTH TYROL CleanUP Days

This year, the PATRON CleanUP Tour is once again taking us to one of our absolute favourite regions in the Alps: Let's go South Tyrol!

It is not without reason that South Tyrol is one of the most sought-after places to live in Europe. The northernmost province in Italy is Alpine and Mediterranean, has Dolomites and vineyards, offers closeness to nature and pleasure. For us, this is a unique combination that is hard to beat.

As part of the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days, eleven South Tyrolean destinations are calling for nature to be cleared of rubbish. The clean-up takes place in Val d'Ega/Eggental, Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, Villnöss, Olang and Aldein Radein, in Val Passiria/Passeiertal, Valle Aurina/Ahrntal and in the regions Valle di Casies/Welsberg-Tesido/Taisten, Gitschberg-Val Giovo/Jochtal, Lüsen and Racines/Ratschings.

11 South Tyrolean destinations follow the CleanUP call

Step by step and hand in hand, we are approaching the vision of #plasticfreepeaks. Right from the first edition in 2023, eight South Tyrolean destinations invited guests and locals to lend a hand - and all eight are taking part again this year. The clean-up will take place in Val d'Ega/Eggental, Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, Funes/Villnöss, Valdaora/Olang and Aldein Radein, which are part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as in Val Passiria/Passeiertal, Valle Aurina/Ahrntal and in the Valle di Casies/Welsberg-Tesido/Gsieser Tal-Welsberg-Taisten region. With Gitschberg-Jochtal, Lüsen and Ratschings, three more regions will be added this year. All eleven destinations have one thing in common: they are committed to a conscious approach to nature. PATRON goes südtirol

As a non-profit organisation, we will of course not miss the opportunity to lend a hand at the Südtirol CleanUP Days. During the event period from 19-22 September, we will be organising at least one Community Hike - presented by Hanwag, where you can also take part and get to know us. We'll be coming up with a few more ideas - stay tuned!

But we're not the only ones organising guided CleanUPs during the event period. You will soon be able to see when and where you can join a group on our CleanUP Map under the tab Südtirol CleanUP Days | guided CleanUP.

We could never organise an event of this size on our own. That's why we are incredibly happy to have found two partners in IDM Südtirol and the Provincial Department of Nature, Landscape and Spatial Development who care about our environment as much as we do. Together, they support the tourism organisations via the working table for the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, where measures on the topic of waste avoidance have been implemented for some time as part of the "Mindful on the Mountain" project. And now they are tackling the issue together with PATRON e.V.
